1. Who We Are

PlotNua is an independent website operated by Colin MacAulay, who is the data controller for the personal information processed through this website. PlotNua explores new possibilities for residential property in Ireland and helps homeowners discover ideas, information and, where appropriate, independent suppliers.

2. Information We Collect

PlotNua currently collects only a limited amount of personal information. When you get in touch, this may include:

• your name;
• your email address; and
• the message you submit through the Contact page.

If you use Your Plot, you can enter an Eircode so that we can find your property and show you the parts of Your Plot that depend on knowing where it is. We do not keep your Eircode, and it is not stored alongside the options you save to My Plot.

We do not ask for unnecessary personal information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use the information you provide to:

• respond to your enquiry;
• communicate with you about your enquiry;
• find your property when you use Your Plot, and provide the features that depend on its location;
• show public planning information recorded near a property, where any is found;
• operate and improve the PlotNua website; and
• understand how visitors use the website through analytics.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Website Analytics

PlotNua uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics may collect information such as:

• pages visited;
• approximate location;
• device type;
• browser type; and
• time spent on the website.

This analytics data may involve identifiers such as cookies or similar technologies, and should not be considered fully anonymous. We use it to understand website performance and improve the visitor experience.

Google Analytics will only be activated after a visitor has made an appropriate choice through the website's cookie consent controls, where consent is required. Visitors can withdraw or change their choice through those controls and can also manage cookies through their browser settings.

5. Contact Forms

When a visitor sends a message through a form on this website — the Contact page, the question form in Your Plot, or the supplier enquiry described in Section 6 — the submission is processed using Formspree before being delivered to hello@plotnua.ie. The information submitted is used to review and respond to the enquiry. Only what is entered in that form is sent: an Eircode and saved My Plot options are not.

Formspree operates under its own privacy terms. Where personal information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, Formspree states that it relies on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Visitors should refer to Formspree's own Privacy Policy for further information about how it processes personal information.

6. Supplier Enquiries

Your Plot can help you send an enquiry to a supplier you have chosen yourself. This only happens if you ask for it. You choose the supplier and the product, you can read and edit the whole message before it is sent, and nothing is sent until you tick the consent box and press send.

What is sent:

• your name;
• your email address;
• the town or county you enter;
• the message as you have written it; and
• the name of the supplier and the product you selected.

What is not sent:

• your Eircode;
• your full address;
• your property's coordinates;
• the 3D view of your property;
• the options you have saved to My Plot;
• anything you compared that supplier against; and
• any PlotNua ranking or score.

None of these leave your browser with the enquiry.

The enquiry is processed by Formspree and delivered to PlotNua. PlotNua then passes it to the supplier you chose. From that point the supplier is independent of PlotNua and may reply to you directly using the name and email address you gave. How that supplier handles your details is governed by its own privacy policy, not by this one, and any conversation you have with it afterwards is between you and them.

While the supplier enquiry service is being piloted, we may contact you afterwards to ask whether the supplier replied and how the enquiry went. You do not have to respond, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Your name, email address and location are not saved to My Plot and are not stored in your browser.

7. Cookies

PlotNua may use cookies and similar technologies to:

• support website functionality;
• remember user choices where applicable; and
• measure website usage through analytics.

Visitors can control or delete cookies through their browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functions.

Our Cookie Policy explains each category of cookie in more detail, and visitors can change or withdraw their cookie choices at any time through the consent controls on this website.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

PlotNua may link to or use services operated by third parties, including:

• Cookiebot, which manages cookie consent on this website;
• Google Analytics;
• Google Maps and Places, used to show supplier and place information;
• Google geocoding, used to find the location of an Eircode entered in Your Plot;
• Cesium, which delivers the Google 3D imagery used for the property view;
• Esri (ArcGIS), used to look up public planning information recorded near a property;
• Formspree;
• Instagram;
• Facebook;
• LinkedIn;
• Pinterest; and
• TikTok.

The Eircode lookup in Your Plot runs on PlotNua's own service, which is hosted on infrastructure provided by Cloudflare. Cloudflare is named here as the hosting provider rather than as a separate service of its own.

These providers operate under their own privacy policies and terms. PlotNua is not responsible for how third-party websites process information once a visitor leaves the PlotNua website.

9. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable under data protection law, PlotNua may rely on:

• consent;
• legitimate interests in operating and improving the website;
• taking steps at the visitor's request before entering into an arrangement; and
• compliance with legal obligations.

10. How Long We Keep Information

PlotNua retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Contact enquiries may be retained for as long as needed to respond, maintain relevant records and deal with any related follow-up.

Supplier enquiries are retained for as long as needed to pass them on, answer any follow-up, and keep a record of what was sent on your behalf.

Information will be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer reasonably required, subject to legal or administrative obligations.

11. Data Security

PlotNua uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to help protect personal information. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your Data Protection Rights

Subject to applicable law, visitors may have rights including:

• access to their personal information;
• correction of inaccurate information;
• deletion of personal information;
• restriction of processing;
• objection to processing;
• data portability where applicable; and
• withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

Requests may be sent to hello@plotnua.ie. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.

13. Complaints

Visitors may raise concerns directly with PlotNua at hello@plotnua.ie. They may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission in Ireland or another relevant supervisory authority.

14. Children's Privacy

PlotNua is not specifically directed at children. The website does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children.

15. Changes to This Policy

As PlotNua develops, this Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the website, services or legal requirements. Significant changes will be published on this page.
